Chairman

Rob Quest was elected chairman in September 2021 by CFSG members.

For over 35 years Rob has been an enforcement officer for the City of London Corporation. This work involves ensuring compliance with the import and transit of animals at the Heathrow Animal Reception Centre, the Border Inspection Post at Heathrow Airport and the Traveller’s Point of Entry for Pet movements. He is also responsible for the City of London Corporation’s Animal Health and Welfare team that carry out inspections for the licensing of animal related premises for over 35 local government organisations.

Rob is a member of several regional and national government panels dealing with animal health and welfare and the regulations governing them as well as being a local government representative on several non-governmental organisation working groups.

Vice Chairman

Paula Boyden BVetMed MRCVS

After joining Dogs Trust in 2010, Paula became Veterinary Director in 2011.

She is Representative at the European Commission’s Animal Health Advisory Committee, Chair of the Links Group, Member of the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs Rabies Core Group, Member of the Wales Animal Health and Welfare Framework Group, and a Board member and treasurer of the Blue Dog Trust.

Paula has sat on working groups for both the British Veterinary Association and the British Small Animal Veterinary Association and is a founder member of the Association of Charity Vets.

Co-ordinator

CFSG is run by Marisa Heath who sets the annual strategy to be agreed by members and drafts policy pathways for the Group's work. Marisa is responsible for writing consultation responses, reports and letters to Government on issues affecting dogs and cats in England.

Marisa has over 15 years experience working in local and national Government and over 10 years working in the animal welfare field having run the Associate Parliamentary Group for Animal Welfare and the Local Government Animal Welfare Group. She has written a number of reports and articles on animal welfare topics and has worked extensively with Government, NGOs and industry.
